Rosignano Marittimo is a common one of the most populous province of Livorno. It was probably an Etruscan settlement, Roman and Lombard (the sources of this are not clear). The name dates back to 1862 Maritime and refers to the Maremma (Maritima in Latin). In the Middle Ages had the Gherardesca possessions, and later the Medici bought a large estate for hunting, Podesta became the first class period, Leopoldina (late eighteenth century). Among the places to see there is the Archaeological Museum, housed in the Palace and Mount Bombers Peeled, to spend a day in the green, full of paths and trails, including cycling. |
