Hotel Quercianella

Quercianella is a fraction of Livorno which is separated from the rocky coast of The Hermit. In the eighteenth century the area belonged to the archbishopric of Pisa and was famous for its sandstone estarzione, activities that continued until the time of fascism, and intermittently until the sixties of the twentieth century. The development of Quercianella occurred as a result of road improvements, starting in the second half of the nineteenth century, thanks to which were built in Gothic style, the Chapel of the Holy Family (1889), designed by Dario Giacomelli and the small church of Sant 'Anna, at the beginning of the twentieth century. With the completion of the railway Livorno-Cecina was built a small station Quercianella, coinciding with the inauguration of the now famous Baths Paolieri. Still in the early twentieth century was the transformation of Villa Jana in an eclectic style medieval building. Since 2007 Quercianella has received the Blue Flag for the quality of services and bathing water.
